Instagram is probably my most active social media platform. Even if I don’t have anything to post, I’m always scrolling for funny memes or getting travel and beauty inspiration. Since the month of March is used to celebrate women AND I’m an advocate for natural hair, here’s a list of my ten favorite traveling naturals on Instagram. All of these accounts showcase some sort of solo, family, couples or group travel. If you’re a natural that loves to travel, I am sure you will love them as much as I do. I hope these traveling naturals also inspire you to travel the world in some way.

My obsession with Brazil and Rio de Janiero specifically, can’t be summed up in a single photo or caption, but here’s a start: It’s been such an exhilarating experience being here during Carnaval especially. It’s a total sensory overload everywhere you look. Brazil doesn’t know how to do things small. Their parade at the Sombradromo the past two nights have blown my mind. This multi-million dollar event, with extravagant floats, costumes, and firework displays, puts every Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade to shame. Maybe I had too much to drink (spoiler: I did), but hearing them sing national songs in unison to the ricocheting beat in that arena gave me chills. Brazilians are such proud people — but not in a boasting or bragging sense. They just genuinely love their culture, their passions, and their customs, and getting to share a piece of it with foreigners, excites them to boundless degrees. Though I’m mistaken as a Brazilian 9 times out of 10 while walking down the street, there’s so much I want to share about the encounters, conversations, and revelations Brazilians from all backgrounds have shared with me. Their history is so complex and their ethnic divide, while probably subtle to most, was very apparent to me. At my core, I’m a storyteller. And I’m anxious to share why Brazil needs to move to the top of everyone’s bucket lists, but more than that, what lessons I can pass on through my experiences here. Brazil is a convoluted place with many layers to its greatness, but at its foundation, filled with proud, colorful, and vivacious souls who will do what they can to make sure your experience here is great. Can’t wait to share more and keep tuning into Snapchat “GL0” (with a zero) and IG stories, for real-time and behind-the-scenes updates. Thanks to @samantharuberto for this photo, and yay for reuniting in our 3rd country now! ❤
