Happy March! Last weekend, I had the honor of attending one of my cousin’s 30th birthday masquerade party in Chesapeake, VA. The theme was a “30 Shades of Beauty” and attendees were encouraged to come dressed to impress.
Of course, I WOULD accept an invite to a masquerade party, and not have a mask. Luckily, I was helping out with decorations and picked one up at a local Party City. Not the best, but it went with my look and was better than the Hello Kitty one I considered wearing. The 30th Birthday Masquerade party also called for semi-formal attire. I knew about it for about a month, but between vacation, work and life overall, I didn’t have time to shop. I pulled out an oldie but goodie Little Black Dress I purchased a few years ago that still fit (winning).
Dress: Aqua | Shoes: Guess | Necklace
Because we wore masks most of the night, I didn’t bother with much makeup. I really didn’t have to wear eyeshadow, but I did.
- Foundation: Shea Moisture Sheer Foundation in Havasu Hazel
- Blush: MAC Ambering Rose
- Eyeshadow: MAC Wonder Woman Palette
- Lips: Maybelline Maple Kiss
I had a fun time. The weather was beautiful and the vibes were great. Most importantly, my cousin enjoyed her birthday celebration. Next year will be my 30th birthday and I am working on a list of things I want to do before then.
Have you attended a masquerade party?
