January Favorites 2017

It’s been a while since I’ve posted product faves and this year I’m switching it up to share monthly favorites. I have my staples, but between product formula changes and sometimes my mood, I reach for specific things throughout the month. Here are my five favorite hair and beauty products for the month of January.

Uncle Funky’s Daughter Rich and Funky Moisturizing Cleanser

The Uncle Funky’s Daughter Rich & Funky Moisturizing Cleanser lives up to its name. When coming back from Barcelona it was much needed since I wore my halo braid protective style for almost two weeks. I was able to give my hair the moisture it needed while getting the buildup out.

SheaMoisture Superfruit Complex 10-in-1 Renewal System Conditioner

SheaMoisture Superfruit Complex 10-in-1 Renewal System Conditioner

I’m a HUGE Shea Moisture fan and this line is one of my favorites in their entire 150+ variety collection. The Shea Moisture Super Fruit conditioner is awesome for detangling, but I personally use this as a leave-in sometimes. It strengthens, smooths, adds shine to your hair and more. Keep in mind that it doesn’t have a subtle scent that can be overwhelming to some, but it works really well on dry hair.

Curél® Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer

If you suffer from dry skin especially in the winter, I highly recommend this product. The concept of the Curél® Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer is weird at first, but it works well. It is designed to penetrate the skin’s surface and bring moisture to the source of your dry skin. Just apply the product to your skin right after bathing or showering and pat dry.

Talk about GLOW! I was never a big fan of highlighting, but the e.l.f. Illuminating Palette definitely changed my mind. Averaging at about $6, it’s super affordable too! My go-to from this set is definitely the bottom right. I will need to play around with the other shades to give a full review.

Maybelline The Colossal Big Shot Mascara

Maybelline Mascara

Outside of lipstick, mascara is my second favorite beauty item. I have naturally long lashes, but the Big Shot Mascara gives my lashes volume for a boldly finished look.
