I’m not much of a movie person, but as a travel lover, I just HAD to see the movie Girls Trip. Starring Regina Hall, Tiffany Haddish, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Queen Latifah, Girls Trip is a comedy of four friends’ adventure in New Orleans during the annual Essence Music Festival weekend.
My High School friends and I saw it opening weekend and the movie showed great lessons in self-discovery, bravery, friendship, and more. If you’re in the planning stages for a group vacation, here are some girls vacation ideas to plan with your travel crew.

Who doesn’t love rest and relaxation? Spa vacations are great for moms or busy bees that need a break from the stress of work and life. You can also visit a beach destination that includes spa services in or close to your hotel or resort.

Wine tastings are a nice option for day or girls weekend getaways. Tours give you the ability to visit several wineries while getting expert knowledge of the wines and wineries. Popular destinations in the U.S. include The Finger Lakes, Napa Valley, and Smoky Hill Vineyards. Before the summer ends, I’ll be heading to North Fork wine country for an all-inclusive tour of the East End’s historic vineyards.
Girl’s Weekend Road Trip
Road trips are fun for spontaneous explorers. You can find a lot of hidden gems from less popular destinations and discover the beauty of a country while driving the open road. The cool thing about road trips is they can be planned in advance or totally random. They are also a great way to bond with the group. Just make sure there’s more than one driver in the bunch because it can be tiring.
Girl’s Party Weekend
Party weekends are perfect for celebrating spring break, a birthday, graduation, a wedding, or a divorce. The best thing about partying for your girls weekend away is every city worldwide provides nightlife. Rent a party bus or make sure you have reliable transportation and paint the town red.

Cruises have it all: food, entertainment, pools and you get to visit a new destination! When you think about it, you can easily fit all of the previous girls’ vacation ideas on a cruise with your friends.

Girls trips are something my friends and I discuss frequently. Since our trip to Thailand, we’ve been to Morocco and are planning for the next few years. Haiti, Bali, Belize, Italy, Iceland, South Africa, going Glamping, taking a cruise to Australia & New Zealand (and jokingly visiting Bora Bora) are just some of the many future girls’ vacations planned and we can’t wait to visit them all.
