Everything You Need to Know About Visiting LEGOLAND Florida

Day Trip to Legoland® Florida
Many thanks to Legoland® Florida for providing complimentary Legoland Water Park combo tickets. As always, all opinions expressed are my own.

My family loves theme parks and waterparks so, for our last day of vacation in Central Florida, my sister, brother-in-law, and I took a day trip to Legoland Florida with the kids. We only had about three hours to get on as many rides as possible so we started with the Legoland Water Park and made our way to the regular park after.

If you’re planning a trip to Central Florida with the family, read more about our day trip to Legoland Florida and my final Legoland Florida review.

Legoland Florida Location, and Times

Legoland is located in Winter Haven, Florida, and opens from 10 AM to 7 PM. The water park is open until 6 PM.

Best Time to Visit Legoland Florida in the Summer

During the summer, they recommend that you plan your visit between 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. –  7:00 p.m. to avoid the peak visit time between 1:00 pm – 3:00 p.m.

Duplo Splash Safari

Our first stop in the water park was the Duplo Splash Safari. This section caters to ages 6 and under; perfect for my 14-month niece who loves the water and thinks she can run around everywhere. My nephew is a bit water-shy so using the small slides and walking in at most ankle-deep water made him most comfortable in that area. There are also interactive Lego® Duplo® characters that you can play with within that area.

The Joker Soaker

Our favorite, the Joker Soaker, is a full interactive play area catered to kids and the kids at heart. My brother-in-law and I were “supervising”, but having a blast going up climbing areas, down the slides, and using the sprouts to splash all of the kids. On several occasions, we ran down to get an extra splash underneath the 300-gallon bucket of water.

Miniland USA

The kids were ready to go to the Ford driving school, but slippery ground and kids with machines are not a good combo. We instead took a walk throughout Miniland USA which are Lego® replicas of 9 themed areas: Las Vegas, Daytona International Speedway, New York City, Washington D.C., Cities in Florida, The Kennedy Space Center, California, LEGO® STAR WARS™ and Pirate’s Shores.

Miniland USA took over two years to build by over 100 Master Model Builders from North America, Asia, and Europe. There are more than 30 million Lego bricks in Miniland.

We’re planning to go back to Florida next year and Legoland® is on the top of our list. I’m definitely interested in Duplo Valley and Heartlake City for my nieces and Land of Adventure for my nephews. Most, if not all of the statues around the park and food court were made of Legos. We even got to take a picture with Emmet and Wyldstyle! It was a great day and we can’t wait to go back next year.

I think I might have more fun here than the kids. I need to add this to our things to do list. My 10 year old loves Lego’s and water and the activities are age appropriate for the 3 year as well. Win win for me. Thanks for sharing.

I have been to this Legoland place here in Atlanta but I know it’s nothing compared to the real deal. I want to go and can’t wait to take the kids
