April Favorites 2017

On Monday I celebrated my 31st birthday on the beautiful island of Martinique. The more research about the island I did for my post, the more interest I had to go. My cousin needed a break so we found a deal and booked a flight with Norwegian Airlines. We didn’t make it to the Anse Cafard Slave Memorial but still had a great time making it one of the best birthdays I’ve ever had. I’m still kind of in “lazy birthday mode” but still, have favorites to share. Here are some beauty and travel related items that made it to my April Favorites.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

I had my doubts, but the Laura Mercier translucent loose setting powder is worth it. It is for medium and deep skin tones and has a no-flashback formula so your face is flawless in every picture. I used it in my carnival inspired makeup look.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Illuminating

I needed a new foundation, so I went to Sephora for new Color IQ while picking up my birthday gift. Apparently, I’ve tanned lol. The Laura Mercier setting powder was already being used, so I picked up the tinted moisturizer in the color Bronze Radiance. A benefit of this formula is it gives a sheer coverage with a slightly dewy finish. It also has SPF 20 protection.

L’Oreal-Advanced Suncare Silky Sheer Lotion

My cousin and I had a great weekend with fun in the sun, but our #1 beach day essential was sunscreen. It’s the same sun wherever you go, but I really feel it beams brighter in the Caribbean. The L’Oreal-Advanced Suncare Silky Sheer Lotion goes on clear and contains Vitamin E and grape seed to keep your skin soft and protected from the heat. It is very affordable too.

High Waist Bikinis

I’m still working on my lil pudge so high waist bikinis have become my new BFF. I purchased two from Target for Mexico and Cuba, but since I went to Martinique, I’ve already worn them. Still debating if I want to get another…

Google Translate App

I normally use Duolingo to help with learning a new language, but since my birthday trip was last minute, I downloaded the Google translate App to help me out. We learned basic French phrases and were able to take pictures and type out what we didn’t understand. I’ll definitely be keeping on my phone from now own.
